The Exam Schedule indicates when final examinations are to be held this quarter. It is the student's responsibility to plan a class schedule so final exams do not conflict.

When final exams are given in undergraduate courses, methods of examination may include a final written examination, a term paper, a final oral examination, a take-home examination or other evaluation device. If a final written examination is given, it shall not exceed three hours.

Check the Calendar for the last day of instruction and first day of final examinations. A change in the hour the class is being offered will change its final exam group. Although most final examinations will be held in the same room as class meetings, some finals may be scheduled in alternative classrooms. The classroom scheduled for the final examination will be announced prior to final exams week.

It is the policy of the Riverside campus that an instructor will make a reasonable attempt to accommodate student needs in the case of serious incompatibility between a student's religious creed and a scheduled test or examination.

  1. Accommodation for alternative examination dates will be worked out directly and on an individual basis between the student and the instructor involved.
  2. Students should make such requests of the instructor during the first two weeks of any academic term, or as soon as possible after a particular examination date is announced by the instructor.
  3. Students unable to reach a satisfactory arrangement with their instructor should contact the Ombudsperson or the associate dean of their school or college.
  4. Instructors who have questions, or who wish to verify the nature of the religious event or practice involved should contact the Ombudsperson or the associate dean of the school or college for assistance.
