Final Examination information – Winter 2006
The chart indicates when your final examinations are to be held this quarter. It is your responsibility to plan your class schedule appropriately so that your finals do not conflict and so you do not have too many finals on one day.  Final examinations are required for all undergraduate courses; methods of examination may include a final written examination, a term paper, a final oral presentation, a take-home examination or other evaluation device. If a final written examination is given, it shall not exceed three hours’ duration and shall be given only at the times and places announced in this schedule.

Friday, March 17, 2006 is the last day of instruction. Monday, March 20, 2006 is the beginning of final examinations. A change in the hour the class is being offered will change its final exam group.  Final examinations will be held in the same room as class meetings, except ENGL 001A, 001B, 001C and introductory foreign language classes.  Instructors may request special room assignments if necessary.

Policy on Religious Accommodation
It is the policy of the Riverside campus that an instructor will make a reasonable attempt to accommodate student needs in the case of serious incompatibility between a student’s religious creed and a scheduled test or examination.

  1. Accommodation for alternative examination dates will be worked out directly and on an individual basis between the student and instructor involved.
  2. Students should make such requests of the instructor during the first two weeks of any academic term, or as soon as possible after a particular examination date is announced by the instructor.
  1. Students unable to reach a satisfactory arrangement with their instructor should contact the Ombudsperson or the associate dean of their school or college.
  1. Instructors who have questions or who wish to verify the nature of the religious event or practice involved should contact the Ombudsperson.
