About Enrollment
 


Obtain an enrollment adjustment form at the Highlander One Stop Shop (HOSS) on the first floor of the Student Services Building, from your college office, or from your department beginning Thursday, October 7, 2010. In-person enrollment begins the third week of the quarter (see Calendar for dates).

  1. To withdraw from or add a course (You must clear any advising restrictions or administrative holds before enrolling in classes.)
    1. Enter the course call number, subject area, course number, and section number for courses you wish to withdraw from in the appropriate fields (a "W" will appear on the transcript).

    2. Enter the course call number, subject area, course number, and section number for courses you wish to add in the appropriate fields.

    3. If the course has variable grading, choose the appropriate grading basis (Letter Grade [LG] or Satisfactory/No Credit [S/NC]).

    4. Indicate the number of units for variable unit courses.

  2. To change the grading basis or unit value for a course, enter the course call number, subject area, course number, and section number in the Change section.
    1. Choose the appropriate grading basis (Letter Grade [LG] or Satisfactory/No Credit [S/NC]).
    2. Indicate the number of units for variable unit courses.

  3. Obtain required signatures. The Highlander One Stop Shop (HOSS) on the first floor of the Student Services Building will accept enrollment adjustment forms for ten working days from the date the last signature of approval is obtained. HOSS hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

a. Undergraduate Students

  1. Instructor of course (not required for course withdrawals or grading basis changes)

  2. Advisor (except for section changes)

  3. Dean's approval required for the following changes:
  • Withdrawal from Basic Writing or ENGL 001A, 001B, 001C, 004, 005
  • Dropping below 12 units or changing a program that had previously been approved for less than 12 units
  • Adding a course after the third week of instruction
  • Withdrawal from a course after the sixth week of instruction
  • Changing grading basis after the eighth week of instruction

b. Business Preparatory and Business Administration Students

  1. Graduate School of Management Assistant Dean

c. Graduate Students

  1. Instructor of course (not required for course withdrawals or grading basis changes)

  2. Graduate Advisor

  3. Dean of Graduate Division's approval required for any changes after the third week of instruction

d. Biomedical Sciences Students

  1. Dean of Biomedical Sciences

e. Education credential-only students (M.Ed. and Education degree students follow for graduate students above)

  1. Dean of Graduate School of Education
  1. After the third week of instruction, a $3 fee is required; pay at Cashier's Office.
  2. Sign and file approved enrollment adjustment form at the Highlander One Stop Shop (HOSS) on the first floor of the Student Services Building, by deadlines indicated in the Calendar.
