Adding and Dropping Courses

Students may add and drop courses on GROWL through the end of the second week of instruction. Paper forms are not accepted during this time. After the end of the second week of instruction, paper forms are used to make changes, which must be done in person.

Students do not need the instructor's signature to drop a course (through second week online) or withdraw from a course (third through sixth weeks). An advisor's signature is needed to withdraw from a course.

Withdrawing from a Course

Students have until the end of the sixth week of instruction to withdraw from a course. A "W" appears on the transcript, signifying withdrawal.

Satisfactory/No Credit Grading

Students may change the grading basis of a course through the eighth week of instruction. Changes in grading basis can be made in person from the third through eighth week.

Class listings in this schedule identify courses with mandatory attendance policies, which may include automatically dropping students for nonattendance or requiring students to drop the course themselves. Contact the academic department involved for more information about policies affecting specific courses.
