About Enrollment

Check the Calendar to determine the date of your enrollment appointment period. Although you may enroll after your appointment period, during the makeup period you will have less chance of getting your preferred classes. You will receive information about your specific appointment time at GROWL.

After meeting any advising requirements, log in to GROWL. Beginning Fall 2005, all enrollment will take place on GROWL. You no longer need a REGPIN to register. Your PERMPIN and appointment period are sufficient. See Enrollment Instructions.

Hours

GROWL is available from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight on Monday and Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday. It is available on Tuesdays until 9:00 p.m, Wednesdays until 10:00 p.m., and when monthly Statements of Accounts are produced until 6:00 p.m. GROWL may also be accessed on weekends, but hours vary depending on student information system availability and maintenance needs.

New Undergraduate Students

The Office of the Registrar provides enrollment information to new undergraduates who have returned their positive Statement of Intent to Register (SIR). Enrollment materials include appointment periods to enroll for classes on GROWL during the enrollment period (see Calendar). See the Enrollment instructions for enrollment procedures. New undergraduates who fail to pay fees by the last day to pay fees listed in the Calendar, will lose all courses in which they are enrolled and will be assessed a late payment fee of $50.

New Graduate Students

New graduate students are urged to contact their academic department for information concerning their initial enrollment. Newly admitted graduate students will receive appointment periods to enroll on GROWL during the enrollment period listed in the Calendar.

Students with Disabilities

If you are unable to use GROWL, please contact Services for Students with Disabilities for assistance.

Registration Period Assignments

At UCR, the following students receive priority registration appointment periods:

Graduate students
Disabled students
Regents' Scholars
Chancellor's Scholars
University Honors Program students
Student Athletes

Appointment periods for all other students are determined by a student's number of earned units—highest number to lowest number. Thus a senior with 172 earned units will receive an earlier appointment period than a senior with 145 earned units.

Students with pending transfer units should be aware that these units will not be calculated toward their UCR unit total until official transcripts from each school attended have been received and reviewed by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
